AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 23, 2006– Honeywell (NYSE:HON) today announced the addition of an advanced mustering capability to the Vindicator V5 Network Security Appliance™, the company’s flagship intrusion detection and access control security system used at government, military and other critical facilities around the globe. The “Who’s Here List” feature provides real-time updates on who is inside the facility and their locations, enabling operators to determine if employees have reached designated “safe” locations.
Being able to muster workers and visitors at a designated location allows supervisors to track individuals without having to physically walk through dangerous areas looking for their people. Additionally, they can more effectively coordinate with first responders during emergencies.
“Homeland security is at the forefront of the minds of every security director at critical government and industrial facilities,” said Brian Holmes, Honeywell Vindicator director of sales. “In this new era, safety and security go hand-in-hand, and their importance increases every day. Our latest Vindicator advancements deliver both safety and security to our customers without sacrificing either.”
The Vindicator V5 Network Security Appliance and associated UHS-Net™ network creates an ultra-secure environment for security-system information on a customer’s existing facility network. It can transmit and receive encrypted security data over any media: wire, RF, modem, fiber, etc. to the Vindicator Command and Control center operator environment. The associated field network can be easily expanded or changed to accommodate changing customer environments. Honeywell Vindicator customers include government and military facilities, industrial facilities, utilities, correctional institutes and other high-end commercial end-users.
