Honeywell Opens Alarm Security Museum

Unique Collection Spans Eight Decades, Celebrates Company’s Legacy and Historical Impact

MELVILLE, NY, May 29, 2008 – Honeywell’s (NYSE:HON) ADEMCO Alarm Security Museum celebrated its official grand opening last week at Honeywell Security’s location in Melville, New York. The museum’s gallery houses a unique collection tracing the development of alarm systems from 1929 through the dawning of advanced forms of security communications in the early 2000s.

“To fully appreciate where you are and where you are headed, it’s always important to look back at where you came from,” explains Ron Rothman, President of Honeywell Security & Communications. “The collection truly reflects our history and legacy. It chronicles the company’s growth from a small, Brooklyn-based business to emerging as an industry leader that embraced new technologies, to later becoming part of Honeywell.”

The opening ceremony and dedication were conducted after a tour of the Melville facility for the media and First Alert Professional President’s Council members last week. Also in attendance were Leo Guthart, former Chairman of ADEMCO Security Group and Vice Chairman of Pittway; and Wayne Alarm President Ralph Sevinor, who donated a large number of security products to the museum.
